Current mood: Angry.
Angry at myself. Thursday morning I spent a few hours drawing, then put my stuff on top of the lightbox and put the self-made cover over it (to keep it safe from the cats), like always. Saturday afternoon I wanted to draw, so I uncover the lightbox -- and realise that apparently I forgot to turn the thing off on Thursday. Yup, poor thing's been running and heating itself up for something like 55 hours. And I was wondering why the cats insisted on sleeping on top of it all Friday...
Casualties:
- 1 plastic eraser (melted)
- 1 rubber eraser (discoloured)
- 1 brand new Pilot drawing pen (melted/deformed)
- 1 lightbox (plastic parts melted/burned/deformed)
Two hours more and I would have had a nice fire, I believe...
Anyway, the lightbox still works, but I'm not sure how safe it is. The deformations outside don't bother me, but where the plastic almost burned inside, it is now about one centimeter closer to the bulb than it should be. At least I probably should not let it run for more than 20 minutes at a time anymore, I guess (that's when it starts to noticeably warm up).
Stupid cats. They should have warned me.
Spiky's Link of the Day:
I've linked to pages on cockeyed.com before, but only recently I stumbled across this unsolicited commercial love story. Alicia is everywhere!
Author's notes:
Now that it's finished, it looks a bit better than I thought it would from the initial drawings... Quite many small things that annoy me, but overall it's OK, I think.
