Current mood: Angry.

Warning: ranting/venting/whining ahead.

Some days are just plain torture... I am rather sensitive to the things around me; I notice lots of things all the time; when lots of people are talking, I pick up all the information ; when people are moving behind my back, I constantly feel the need to turn around and/or run away. Which isn't a good thing; I'm mostly unable to shut out unimportant things, and this leads to a lot of stress. (Especially the "people moving behind my back" part. Must be some primary instinct I forgot to lose during evolution).
Now normally, this isn't much of a problem, since I simply avoid situations with "too much stimulation" when I'm too stressed to sort it out. However, I cannot avoid my work place... Yes, I have informed them several times of this problem of mine. I still sit in some open space (not even a room) with a bunch of other people, some of them behind my back, and not even cubicle walls. Yes, the corridor is behind my back, too. No, the managers don't bother to go to meeting rooms for meetings, they just hang around in our open coders' space as well. And I'm supposed to solve complicated problems there?
This sort of stress is really wearing me out. Even to the point of causing panic attacks, that constant movement outside my field of vision. I told them, but either they don't take me seriously, or they don't care, or they don't find it important enough to try and find a better solution than cramming a bunch of coders in a small open space right next to the corridors. I love my work place, I really do; I like my work, too; but this constant stress is killing me.

Spiky's Link of the Day:

What do you get mixing LEGO and Star Wars? Yeah, LEGO Star Wars models and minifigs. And Greg Hyland's Comics! (And wallpapers.)

Author's notes:

Every webcomic needs to quote Star Wars once, right? I'm done.
I like how Roland looks rather spooked, especially in the first panel. Must hurt more than he wants to admit ;P
