Polyorama - an exhibit of combinatorial artworks. I had a polyorama set as a kid, but I can only barely remember it. Out of those presented on that site, I like the Myriotel best.
Author's notes:
I changed my mind about doing the comic in print format and only shrinking it down for the web at the very end -- it takes ten times as much space on my hard drive, and that adds up pretty quickly. I'm now drawing somewhat bigger than before, then scanning and cleaning at print size -- but I'll do the assembling and lettering at web size. That seems to be the best way to do things for me now.
It will still take a while to really get used to it, though...
